What is GATE entrance exam paper pattern?

hi,
the gate exam consists of one paper of 100 marks with 65 questions. some questions are of 1 mark and some are 2 marks question. the question are asked from respective branch subject and are mostly from subjects of up to 6th semester. 15 marks questions of aptitude and english are also asked. there is negative marking in the paper. after the paper, total score, percentile and rank is provided. this score card is used for admission to pg courses. best of luck. |

The acronym for GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering(GATE) is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Technology. GATE examination is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IIT's. The GATE examination is of three hours duration with patterns and syllabus varying from paper to paper. The examination is conducted in two modes - offline and online. The eligibility criteria required for the GATE examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation in Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Master of Computer application from any accredited college or university. * Completion of post-graduation in Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications from any recognized university. * Age limit:- age limit is not required. GATE stands for Graduation Aptitude Test for Graduation. This is entrence exam for engineering students to enter masters course. For this exam you must have engineering degree with morethen 50%. GATE PATTERN ; This exam contain 65 questions. And the total marks is 100. In this 65 questions first 25 questions each one contain 1 mark. And 26 to 50 questions contai 2 marks. And then after 51 to 60 question contain 1mark. Last 5 questions which is 61-65 questions contain 2 marks. And in this exam for every 1 mark wrong 1/3 and for 2 marks wrong answer 2/3 marks are deducted . All the best |

GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering conducted by IISc and IITs jointly every year for B.Tech Graduates and various other disciplines.
The examination pattern for GATE is mentioned below: -There will be 65 multiple choice questions carrying 100 marks. -There will be 1 or 2 marks questions having four options and you have to select the correct answer. -10 questions will be of General Aptitude(GA) carrying 15 marks and rest will be from the syllabus. -There will be common data questions also in which one data will be given and questions will be asked according to that data. -There will be negative marking for wrong answers. 1 mark question - 1/3 negative for wrong answer 2 marks question - 2/3 negative mark for wrong answer Hence you have to be very careful while attempting otherwise you will lose your marks.
