HELLO,

Firstly , its not EBC the correct pronunciation is OBC . Well \the meaning of OBC is that The Central Government of India classifies some of its citizens based on their social and economic condition as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Class (OBC).

The OBC list presented by the commission is dynamic (castes and communities can be added or removed) and will change from time to time depending on social, educational and economic factors.

For example, the OBCs are entitled to 27% reservations in public sector employment and higher education. In the constitution, OBCs are described as "socially and educationally backward classes", and government is enjoined to ensure their social and educational development.

EBC means Economically Backward Class. Its means the persons have in Open Categery and economically Backward, those persons comes under EBC category.

I have to fill a application and i don't know the meaning of ebc. I belong the cast obc. can i fill the form in ebc? what is the meaning of ebc,is it similar to obc(other backward Cast)

EBC Means Economically Backward Class .

The term of EBC means the people who fall under the family Income of less than 1 lack rupees belongs to EBC Category.

You can avail the fee exemption for higher studies if you come under EBC category

It is in fact EBC. EBC and OBC are completely different.
EBC- economically backward castes- income of parents below 1 lakh per annum
OBC- other backward castes
-for govt employees( belonging to BC ) children - they can't avail this if one of the parents is group 1 employee or both the parents are group 2 employees
-for others( belonging to BC ) - they can avail if gross income of parents is less than 6lpa

The ministry, in its definition of EBCs, has followed the committee's recommendation that "all BPL families among general category as notified from time to time, and all those families among general category whose annual family income from all sources is below the taxable limit should be identified as EBCs."

It is very much clear to all that OBÇ is the acronym of OTHER BACKWARD CLASS & the people who comes under OBC; they are under creamy layer that is to say, the employees or people whose earning is below Rs. 05 lacs ( I.e, Four lacs Ninety Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Nine only).
Secondly, some people say that the OBC is devided in two categories :-

Dear sir, I am complete diploma in CSE department in 2017 and prepared the examination of BCECE(LE) and I am qualify the examination. I have got 155 rank in BC category bet interviewers will reject me,he told me you are become in EBC category so you can't take admission.

The Bihar government has decided to include Kanu, Halwai, Lohar and Karamakar communities in the list of Extremely Backward Castes (EBCs).

My category is under EBC but my annual income is over 1 lac. So, am i not under EBC category?? Please answer me sir. I m confused

Hi friends, ebc means economically backward caste, the people whose parental income per annum is below 1 lakh, will come under the ebc category.
