Hi, I want to become a Railway Station Master. So, would like to know about the minimum qualification required for it. Also, is there any practical experience also required? Or, can I apply directly for Railway Station Master post? What is the pay scale of Railway Station Master?

To become a Station Master a candidate must have minimum qualification of graduation in any discipline from a recognised University and has to qualify the official exam that is connected by railway recruitment board on regular intervals.

Essential qualification required for the post of railway Station Master includes:
1) Age limit: your age should be 18-33 years.
2) Educational qualification:
a) Graduation in any stream from a recognised university.
b) Basic computer knowledge (optional).
candidates who have basic computer knowledge will be given preference.

No, there is no requirement of any practical experience. yes, you can directly apply for the railway station master post, if you posses the above mentioned eligibility criteria. you just have to appear for the examination conducted by railway board which comprises of two rounds:
a) written examination
b) personal interview

Payscale: Basic pay- 35400/- with a grade pay of 4200/-
comprising of some other allowances offered by railway department your gross salary would be around 55000/-
