Required Qualification For IPS Entrance Exam

The recruitment process for the Indian Police Service (IPS) is conducted every year by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year through the Civil Service Exams

A candidate is eligible for appearing for the Civil Service Exams if :-

>> The candidate must have completed his graduation from a recognized University in any stream..

>> The candidate must also be within the age limit of 21-30 years if belonging to the general category..3 years and 5 years age relaxation for the OBC and SC/ST category candidates respectively..

>> Besides these, candidates appearing for the IPS must also fulfill some of the physical norms..

I have attached the physical requirements for IPS in the attachment section and you can go through it..

Exam Pattern :-

The candidates need to clear the following rounds to get recruited :-

>> Prelims (CSAT)

>> Mains

>> Interview Round

>> Physical Examination Round

The forms for the Civil Service Exams shall be available from 2nd February,2013 and the last date to submit the forms is 3rd March,2013..

The Prelims exam will be conducted on 19th May,2013

The Mains shall be conducted on 8th November,2013

IPS stands for Indian Police service.IPS exam is conducted by UPSC. There are some criteria you have to follow for appearing in IPS exam.This exam is conduct through Civil Service Exam .

If you have completed Graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.There is no marks criteria.Final year student are applicable for IPS Exam.

Age criteria :-

General category student candidate 21-30 years.
OBC relaxation in upper age 3 years.
SC/ST relaxation in upper age 5 years.

The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.Also you must be citizen of India.

IPS exam is consist of 3 process - Preliminary Exam . Mains Exam and Personal Interview .

There is no separate exam called IPS Exam to be placed in IPS.

But, instead, there is a common written exam called civil services exam for the candidates to be placed in various civil services like

Minimum qualification required to beome an IPS officer is graduation.

IPS - Indian Police Services

IPS exam is conducted by UPSC every year an it is known as CSAT - Civil Services Aptitude Test.

Eligibility Criteria for CSAT -

Qualification-
Minimum graduation from a recognised university.

Age -
Not below 21 years, not above 30 years.

( 3 years relaxation for OBC and 5 years relaxation for SC/ST)

Stages of IPS exam-

There are three stages to clear –

1. Civil Services Preliminary Examination ( Objective Type) (Usually conducted
in May)

2. Civil Services Main Examination (Written) (Conducted during
