IPS stands for Indian Police Service and it is one of the top civil service in India.

In India, for all the civil services, there is a common written exam being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year.

The various civil services are
-Indian Administrative Service
-Indian Police Service
-Indian Foreign Service etc.

The complete selection procedure to get jobs in these civil services will be
-CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
-Civil Services Main Exam
-Interview

The required academic qualification will be
-Completion of Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.
-There is no percentage of marks criteria required for the candidates to appear for this exam.

Age criteria :
-candidates of General category should be in the age group of 21-30 years.
-Relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category.
-Relaxation in upper age limit upto 5 years for the candidates of SC or ST category.

You did not mention the stream in which you have completed Graduation.

What I will suggest you is to choose the optional subject for Main Exam in accordance with your stream in Graduation.

Before that you should crack CSAT Exam also.

So, have good preparation for that also simultaneously.
