In order to become an IPS (Indian Police Service) Officer, one must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

• Must hold a bachelors degree in any discipline awarded by a recognized university.

• Must have attained the age of 21 years.

• Must not be over 30 years of age.

(Maximum age limit is relaxed upto 3 years for OBC category and 5 years for SC/ST category).

• Must have qualified Civil Service Examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission.

Graduation is the qualification required for an IPS post. Graduation can be done in any chosen subject provided it is taken from a recognized institute. 21 years is the minimum age to apply for this post. All you have to do is to attend UPSC Civil Service exam as part of selection. 30 years is the maximum age allowed for this. Those who qualify main exam will have to attend physical test and personal interview too.

You can apply for the post of Food Inspector post. For this, you have to attend written examination conducted by UPSC. If you clear this exam you will have to attend personal interview also. You will be tested in specific subject areas in this exam. More over experience in food inspection is also necessary to apply for this post.
