Post graduate degree is the main qualification required to apply for NET exam. You can choose any specialization subject in order to pursue PG provided it is taken from a recognized institute. By attending UGC NET exam, you can try for teaching posts in government recognized colleges or universities. There is no higher age limit to appear for this exam. You can apply for this exam via online through UGC official site.
