The Entrance Test conducted for recruitment of Officers in Indian Police Services is known as Civil Service Examination. The Civil Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission and is held once a year. The entrance exam for Indian Police Service is called Civil Service Examination which is conducted on the annual basis by the Union Public Service Commission. The notification is released in November/December while the exam is conducted in May.

The requirement to appear for Indian Police Service examination are not just educational related but also physical. This is due to the nature of work done by the Indian Police Service.

The IPS officer is responsible of maintaining law and order. Apart from that IPS officer takes part in anti terror operations and the officers from IPS cadre are selected for other organizations such as:

Eligibility

1. Candidate should be Indian citizen to apply.

2. Any bachelor degree from recognized university.

3. There is no minimum percentage criteria for IPS.

4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years as on August 1 of examination year.

5. The age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC.

6. SC/ST candidates get 5 years relaxation.


Physical Requirements

Chest

Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm

Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm


Vision

6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye

6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye

Candidate will be disqualified if suffering from night blindness or color blindness.


Height

Male - 165 cm (General/OBC/SC) and minimum of 150 cm (ST)

Female - 150 cm (General/SC/OBC) and 145 cm (ST)

IF, you want to apply for the IPS exams, than you have to give the UPSC Civil Services exams.

ELIGIBILTY:
Educational Qualifications= > Graduation pass in any Stream

AGE- Minimum 21 years
Maximum 30 years
Candidates belonging to OBC gets 3 years and SC/ST gets 5 years age relaxations

ATTEMPTS- General candidates- 4 times
OBC- 7 times
SC/ST- No such restriction

Next UPSC Prelims Exams will be held on 19th MAY 2013
Notifications for this exam will come out on 2nd February 2013

Education Qualification:

A candidate must have completed their graduation Degree in any Discipline (B.A, B.com, B.E ) with atlest 55% from recognise universities

Final year students are also applicable.

If you have completed Graduation in any discipline from recognized university are eligible for IPS exam.There is no marks criteria.Final year student are applicable for IPS Exam.

But your age should be in between 21-30 years for general candidate.In IPS exam their is provide age relaxation for OBC candidate is 3years and for SC/ST candidate is 5 years.

The maximum attempts for Sc/ST candidate is Unlimited. For OBC candidate it is 7 years and for general candidate it will be 5 years.You can not apply after completion of your attempts .

IPS exam is consist of 3 process - Preliminary Exam . Mains Exam and Personal Interview .If you have completed 1st round then you are eligible for next round.

Ips : Stands for the Indian Police Service and for which the upsc department is conducting the civil services exam every year and for the post you have to attempt the civil services exam.

For the civil services exam the candidate must be pass in the graduation degree from a recognized Indian university and also for the exam the final year candidates can also apply and in the graduation you just need passing marks.

Their is number of attempts also for the exam as their is only 4 attempts allowed for the general and their is 7 attempts allowed to the obc category and unlimited attempts allowed for the exam.

The age required for the exam is between 21-30 for all candidates of general category and 21-33 for the obc candidates and their is 21-35 age limit for the sc,st category and for the ph it is 21-40

The Exam is one of the toughest because this exam is for the highest post of the country so you can expect the difficulty level exam also so be alert and prepare for the exam with a lot of hard work and determination.

2.The candidate must have completed 21 year on 1st august of the year,Maximum Age limit for General-30 year, OBC-33 Year, SC/ST-35 Years.

Do we are allowed to write ips exam after completion of our degree in foreign countries but being an indian?

What is the minimum 10th percentage, I am still a student need help from you seniors
