Dear Aspirant,

Generally the score depends on the paper of difficulty faced by the students.Based on the top scorer of the GATE exam the ranks will aloted and then a specific cutoff will be officially released by the gate officials.

The max score you can get in the GATE exam is 1000 for a total of 1000. ;-)

Ability Level of GATE Score Range :
  • Outstanding 800 to 1000
  • Excellent 675 to 800
  • Very good 550 to 675
  • Good 425 to 550
  • Above average 300 to 425
  • Average 100 to 300
  • Below average Below 100

Seats Available in the IIT's :

There are a max of 50 - 60 seats in each branch. There will be separate for each department.

How much is the Score to get into the IIT's :

All In India(AIR) Rank should be less than 500 or equal to get into the IIT's.

But some IIT's have their own interview like they encourage students by allowing 700 AIR ranks .If they meet their standards. They decide these standards at the time of the interview.

We have many deemed colleges after IIT's like NIT's and others universities which agree.
You can apply to these colleges with the gate score for the MTech .

All the best

Sampath
