there are no hard and fast rule a science or art student can only beome the ias officer.u have thing about.ur interest in which field.and complete the graduation for eligibilty criteria and having age less than 30 for genrral candidate

Educational Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree of a recognised university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physcs, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Enginerring or an equivalent qualification No. of permissible attempts : Four (Seven attemps of OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs BEST OF LUCK |

You have to do graduation from any recognized university because after 12th you can not appear for this.I'm giving you the details of this.
IAS Eligibility : Academic Qualification : The candidate must be graduate from any university. Age Limit : ForGeneral :21 to 30 years.[SC/ST will get 5 years age relaxation and OBC will get 3 year age relaxation] No Of Attempts : General : 4. SC/ST: Unlimited. OBC :7. |

Dear friend,
To become an IAS officer you should appear for the Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC. The exam consists of 3stages: (a) Preliminary Test (b) Main Test (c) Personal Interview Eligibility Criteria:- 1. You must be a Graduate in any stream from any recognized university. 2. Your age must be within 21-30years.(relaxation in upper age limit is 3years for OBC and 5years for SC/ST) So, first complete your Graduation then start your preparation. All the best.. |

To be eligible for Indian Administrative Services (IAS) examination, you are required to complete you graduation degree in any stream from a recognised University, accredited by Government of India.
IAS examination is conducted by Union Publice Service Commision (UPSC). The minimum educational qualification required to be eligible for the exam is bachelor degree in any stream. Furthure more the candidate must be in between the age limit of 21 to 30 years on the date of selection interview. Both male and female candidates are eligible to appear for the examination. There are certain relaxations provided to the SC/ST candidates. |

dear friend,
You want to become an IAS officer , then after completion of 12th you can go for graduation course in any trade.. After completion of graduation in any trade you can appear in IAS exam.. But your age should be in between 21-30 years. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years. So, go for graduation course first... And try to complete your graduation course with a good aggregate.. Then you will not have any problem... All the best. |
