ya all are crazy, Biology is needed - so is math. Mathematics is found everywhere, you cannot escape it. For a top notch job like this, you gotta work hard - go by the science stream. Take maths, chemistry and bio (if three subjects are sufficient for passing your boards).

I m yash n i read in class 11 nd my subject is pcb .I want to knw maths is essential for genitical engeering.

In intermediate you must focus on Zoology.
In Zoology you have to concentrate more on mutations ,genetics ,inheritance this concepts then appear for the NEET exam and pursue your Genetic Engineering in IIT's.

The basic eligibility criteria for a graduate degree (B.E/B.Tech) is 10+2 or equivalent examination with Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics as well as genetics as part of the Biology

or

A Bachelors degree in science or Molecular Biology

Genetic Engineering course, the candidate is needed to have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination from a recognized Board of education with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects with a minimum aggregate score of 60%


Genetic engineering doesn't involve a lot of math in it. However when you persue engineering there will be some common subjects where you have to deal with math too. But the core subjects will be related to biology and chemistry. ... So need not worry of your Physics, Chemistry and Biology is strong enough.
