please give me syllabus for drug inspector exam in briefly.

The Drugs and Cosmetics Act of 1945 in India has made it mandatory for the central as well the state governments to have drug inspector. The same act has enthrusted some powers to drug inspector which he need to exercise for the health and safety reasons of general public.

Lets see what is the job of Drug Inspector. He basically has to ensure that all the legal standards set by the central government related to drugs and cosmetics are being met at the places where these items are manufactured, stored or even sold.

To make it simple, drug inspector checks sanitation, purity and grading standards at the places where drugs and cosmetics are manufactured or stored. He has various duties to perform to ensure that these items are safe for human usuage.

Therefore to check whether any banned substance etc are not being used, drug inspector can send the sample for laboratory check and according to the report could take action against the manufacturer if found guilty. Similarly he can check for duplicate drugs at the storage facilities across the state or in India.

Since Drugs and Cosmetics Act of 1945 has made it mandatory to have drug inspector, both states and central government conducts entrance exams. The central level exam for drug inspector is conducted by the UPSC while states PSC is responsible for conducting exams in each states.


Eligibility:

Candidate must be Indian Citizen.

Candidate applying for Drug Inspector exam need to have graduation degree in Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharma), Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine


Age Limit:

General - 21 to 33 years

OBC - 21 to 36 years

SC/ST - 21 to 38 years


Drug Inspector Exam Syllabus:

Paper 1

There are 8 units in Paper 1.

Forensic Pharmacy

Manufacturing Pharmacy

Pharmaceutical analyses

Medical Chemistry

Pharmacognosy

Pharmacology and Taxicology

Hospital and clinical Pharmacy

Anatomy , Physiology and health education


Paper 2

Paper 2 contains questions related to General Knowledge

Educational Qualification:

You should have done your degree in pharmacy / Pharmaceutical sciences / Medicine with specialization in clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from any recognized university with atleast 45% marks .


Age limit:
your age should be between the 18 - 25 years

Last date of apply : march mid

Exam pattern :

Duration: 150 min.

SYLLABUS for drug inspetcor entrance exam:

There should be 8 units containing the following :

UNIT – II – MANUFACTURING OPHARMACY

UNIT – III- PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS

UNIT – IV – MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY

UNIT – V – PHARMACOGNESY

UNIT – VI – PHARMACOLOGY & TOXIOLOG

UNIT – VII – HOSPITAL & CLINICAL OPHARMACY

UNIT – VIII – ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY & HEALTH EDUCATION

so for the entrance exam you have to do the preparation of these syllabus..
now you can apply for the entrance exam 2013 in april becuase 2012 entrance exam has been gone.

The syllabus of Drug Inspector exam will generally focus on technical based questions. The first part will include questions related to pharmacy subjects. Some of the subject areas in this section are forensic pharmacy, clinical pharmacology, drug manufacturing, pharmaceutical analysis etc. The second part of this entrance exam will consist of general knowledge questions. The last section will be a viva voce test.

Those candidate have completed degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences or Medicine with specialization in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology from a recognized University or equivalent are applicable for Drug Inspector exam.

Experience in not mandatory But If you have experience in the manufacture or testing of Biological system , then you are preferable from other candidate.

Your age should be in between 18 to 32 years old.Age relaxation is provide for reserved category .
