Re: What to take after 12th standard to become an IPS in future?
IPS refers to Indian Police Service and to be an IPS officer one is required to qualify Civil Services examination held by UPSC ones every year.
Further the minimum educational qualification required for appearing in Civil Services examination is a bachelor degree course in any discipline from a recognized university. As it is evident that for one's eligibility to become an IPS officer the subject of graduation does not matters hence you can opt for any subject according to your strength and interest for your graduation degree as the selection of stream becomes important while the selection of optional subject for state II of Civil Services examination i.e; Mains as one is required to have a very thorough knowledge in the optional subject. For more details regarding Civil Services examination you can refer to the link www.upsc.gov.in. |

Courses after 12th Class in order to be eligible for IPS :
The subject you choose in Graduation basically depends upon your achievements and the skills that you have. Yes, there is a certain educational qualification required in order to be eligible for join Indian Police Services. In order to join Indian Police Services (IPS) you are required to appear in Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) Entrance Examination which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The minimum educational qualification required is "Graduation" or Bachelor Degree from a recognized university in any discipline. As any discipline is allowed, you may choose the best subject in which you are much interested in. As far as my best knowledge is concerned, B.E/ B.Tech is the best course in order to join IPS. On the other side, if you are willing to join traditional courses the Bachelor of Arts is the best course. |
