NEET Exam Eligibility Criteria:-

$$ NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. This exam can be given both for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in medical.

$$ This exam is conducted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Medical Council of India. Apart from AIIMS, with this test score you can seek for admission in most of the private and government medical colleges.

$$ Earlier it was almost like juggling with several entrance exams and that meant preparing multiple syllabuses and getting used to different exam pattern too. Now with NEET they can concentrate on one exam fully.

$$ Before NEET there were about twenty five medical entrance exams and many used to prepare for as many such entrance exams possible to make their chances bright. It used to put huge amount of pressure on them. With NEET now that problem has been put to rest.

$$ This exam is for the students with science backgrounds so you need to have biology, physics, chemistry at 10+2 level. To give this exam you need to be an H.S. passed student from a recognized institution.

$$ You need to secure 50% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together. For reserved category candidates there is some percentage relaxation.

$$ SC/ST candidates needs to get 45% of marks in aggregate. Those who are in class 12 and about to sit for their board exam or awaiting the result of their board exam can also give this exam.

$$ At the time of applying for this exam your age should not be less than 17 years by any chance.

$$ For the SC/ST/OBC candidates there is a percentage relaxation of five years.

$$ Questions will come from these subjects-physics, chemistry, biology and zoology. In total 180 questions will be asked which means 45 questions from each section. The total paper has to be completed in three hours.

Medical Council of India and Ministry of Human Resource Development proposed the start of a new exam called National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test or NEET for those science students who wants to do undergraduate or postgraduate course in medical.

The main advantage of NEET exam is that earlier there were 25 such medical entrance exam but now with NEET appearing into the scene you can devote all your time and energy in this exam without worrying about multiple syllabus and exam pattern.

With the NEET All India Ranking you can apply in any one of the NEET affiliated colleges in India. By using the State rank you can seek admission in the state from where you come from. Out of the total seats available in a medical college 85% of those seats are kept reserved under state quota and 15% for candidates from other states.

To sit for the NEET exam you need o pass 10+2 firstly of a recognized board and then secure 50% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together. They will calculate the aggregate marks.

There is some relaxation for the reserved category candidates. SC/ST candidates needs to get 45% of marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together. If you are in the final year then also you are eligible to give this exam.

Age Criteria:- The lower age limit for giving this exam is 17 years. For SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates there is 5 years age relaxation.

Please Note:- NEET exam can be given only for three times and you need to ensure minimum 50 percentile in the exam to qualify.
