Sir, my D.O.B. is 05/05/1985 and planning to appear for Civil Services exam in the 2020 session. I just want to know my eligibility. Am I eligible as per my age? Can you tell me the standard age criteria?

To be eligible for Civil Services Exam, your age must be between 21 to 32 years. If you are OBC candidate, you can get age relaxation of 3 years. For SC/ST, age relaxation is of 5 years.
Since, your DOB is 5 May, 1985 so age is around 34 years. Hence, if you are a reserved category candidate, then you are eligible for UPSC Civil Services Exam.

The age limit to apply for the Civil Services examination is 21 years to 32 years in case of general category candidates. Further, there is provision of upper age limit relaxation of 3 years in case of OBC category candidates, 5 years in case of SC/ST category candidates, 10 years in case of PwD category candidates, and other category candidates eligible for relaxation as per the norms.

So, having born on 05.05.1985, you are eligible for the Civil Services examination 2020 only if belong to reserved category candidates eligible for age relaxation.
