I am 3rd year B.Tech student in Computer Science Engineering
So, is their any criterion for the girls to apply in CDS OTA.
If yes, then please let me know as I am a female candidate.

Female candidates are also eligible to appear in CDS-OTA (Officer Training Academy) cadre, you can certainly apply for Combined Defense Service Examination. Basically Female candidates are eligible only for Officer Training Academy, I suggest you to choose OTA as your first and the only preference. The basic educational qualification required to be eligible for OTA Examination is "Degree" or "Graduation" from a recognized university. Remember, candidates appearing at the degree or equivalent examination also eligible to compete. The minimum age to be eligible for CDS OTA is "19 years" and the maximum age is "25 years". Since you are still in 3rd year you can apply for CDS (OTA) Exam next year.

No, you are not eligible to apply for CDS OTA Examination because you must have hold your degree course at the time of appearing for the examination or appearing in the final year of degree course may also apply.

Yes, there is criteria to apply for CDS examination. CDS i.e Combined Defence Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission two times in a year for admission to Indian Naval Academy, Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer Training Academy.

Eligibility Criteria for OTA:

-> You should have completed three years or four years bachelor's degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.
-> No percentage bar is there to apply for this examination.
-> Your age should be between 19-25 years.
-> No upper age limits is applicable for this examination.
-> Only Unmarried male/female candidates are eligible.
-> Those who are appearing in the final year of degree course are eligible to apply.

Yes, you are eligible for CDS OTA exam but you can apply here after completion of your 3rd year because final year candidates are eligible for CDS exam.

CDS stands for COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE

The educational qualification and age criteria for CDS exam is given below-

Indian Military Academy:- You need to be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. Your age should be between 19 to 24 years.

Air Force Academy:- You need to have a bachelor's degree in science with physics or mathematics or B.E./B.Tech in engineering or technology. Your age should be between 19 to 23 years.

Naval Academy:- You need to complete your graduation in engineering or technology or you can do B.Sc degree with physics or mathematics. Your age should be between 19 to 23 years.

Officer's Training Academy:- You need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. Your age should be between 19 to 25 years.

-The candidate must be an Indian.

-The candidate should have completed graduation in any stream from a recognized university.Final year appearing student can also apply for the exam.

Eligibility to apply for UPSC CDS Examination OTA academy :

OTA - Officers Training Academy for which all male and female candidates may apply whereas other streams like IMA, IAF and INA are restricted to female candidates.

To apply for OTA academy, you need to have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any other equivalent qualification.

Candidates pursuing final year of examination or appearing for final exams or have appeared and awaiting for result may also apply but their final result must be declared if marksheets required by the commission at the time of SSB interview.

Age of the candidate should be minimum 19 years and maximum 25 years.

You are pursuing third year of your bachelor's degree B.Tech in Computer Engineering so that you are eligible to apply for this examination.

For your kind notice, examination is conducted twice for CDS OTA in which first exam is conducted in February and second examination is conducted in August of the year.

Examination pattern and selection procedure of UPSC CDS OTA academy :

General Knowledge and Awareness - 100 marks.

English Language and Comprehension - 100 marks.

Total 200 marks for written examination and qualifying in both of these papers is compulsory to be eligible for SSB interview process.

SSB Interview process is for 200 marks and before that you have to qualify physical efficiency test then medical test and after qualifying all these stages, you will be called for SSB Interview Test.

If you are preparing for UPSC CDS examination then you should take help of some good books available in the market and give at least 6 hours everyday for preparation as you are a college student and can not give time then try to provide about two hours everyday to learn things of CDS OTA examination means read General Knowledge whenever you have enough time to study and complete few topics before examination notice.

Also study English Language because both of these subjects are scoring and if you are good at English then you may easily qualify because as far as my knowledge is concerned, you can easily solve mathematics of the exam.
