I want to become engineer in computer /it sector, if I have passed my xii with science stream, if I do b.tech. How to apply a good job or if I do IIT so what is the procedure, and tell me the duration of this, if I do iit will I get the govt. job or not?

There are many jobs available for the B.Tech Computer candidates.

The aspirant can work in many government organisations like Railways and can appear for UPSC, RRB, CDS,
State Government recruitments, PSU companies like BHEL, BEL, SAIL, NTPC, BSNL, ECIL etc.

The aspirant can work as IT Executive, IT Manager, Software Engineer, System Engineer, Technology Analyst etc.

There are also many campus interviews will happen in IITs.

Being an IIT student you can easily get any job.

So the aspirant can get many opportunities in government sector.

Having completed B.tech in Computer/IT stream you can apply for joining in government jobs. If you have interest in working in government banking sector then you can apply for the IBPS exam which conducts exams for candidates to join in posts such as clerk, probationary officer, specialist officer.

Eligibility for PO is that candidate need to have 20-30 years of age for general category candidates and there are relaxation for SC/ST and OBC candidates. Educational qualification needed is degree from a recognized university.

Eligibility for clerk is age limit needed is 20-28 years for general category, 5 years extra for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC. Regarding the educational qualification candidate need to have completed a degree in any discipline.

Apart from that you can apply for UPSC (Union Public Service Commission), a all India public service exam which offers you jobs in civil services, defence services, railways, geologist and several other posts. There are eligibility criteria for each of the exams and the criteria's include nationality, age limit, educational qualification and some of the exams include physical standard. Once you satisfy all the criteria's then you can apply for the respected exams.

The government jobs for B.Tech CSE/IT are lesser. Mainly the government jobs are available for Mech, EEE, ECE and civil branches.

The government sector jobs available mainly for B.Tech CSE/IT branches are
1. Defence(You can apply for military, navy and air force)
2. Civil Services(IAS, IPS etc)
3. Telecom companies(BSNL, MTNL etc)
4. Electronic companies like(ECIL, BEL etc)

Its good if you complete your bachelor degree from IIT, because they have a very good standard of study. After completion of your bachelor degree from any of the IIT you will easily get job in the government sector. But for that you have to appear in the entrance exams conducted by the company and then follow up the complete interview procedure.

** SAIL (Steel Authority of India)

** UPSC (Union Public Service Commission)

** CDS (Combined Defense Service)

** BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited)

** ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization)

** DRDO (Defense Research and Development Organization)

** ECIL (Electronic Cooperation of India Limited)

After completion of B.Tech you have many options in government jobs like Bank PO, Civil Services, SSC CGL, Engineering services exams and various IT related jobs in CDAC and other government IT organisations.

You can also try for private sector jobs if you have done from IITs. Most of the IITians get a very good package after completion and government job is not the aim for many of them.
