• Meet the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for female candidates to join the Indian Air Force (IAF) are as follows:
  
  • Indian citizen.
  • Age between 17 and 21 years as of 01 August 2023.
  • Minimum height of 152 cm.
  • Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Good physical and mental health.
  • No criminal record.
• Appear for the entrance examination. The IAF conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) for the selection of candidates for various branches of the IAF. The AFCAT is a computer-based test that assesses the candidate's knowledge of English, general knowledge, and aptitude.
• Clear the medical examination. After clearing the AFCAT, candidates are required to undergo a medical examination to ensure that they are fit for the Air Force. The medical examination includes a physical examination, a dental examination, and a psychological examination.
• Attend the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. The SSB interview is a personality test that assesses the candidate's leadership qualities, motivation, and suitability for the Air Force. The SSB interview is conducted by a panel of officers from the IAF.
