Sir,
Can you tell me what is the minimum
percentage required for CDS exam in B.Sc?
Please tell me about this.

There is no certain minimum percentage is required to be eligible for CDS Examination. The only eligibility criteria required is " Graduation " or Bachelor Degree from a recognized university/ institute.

Minimum Percentage required to appear in CDS:

* There is no percentage limit to be eligible for applying in CDS Exam.

* The basic educational qualification required is "Candidates must have just passed the qualifying Examination".

Educational Qualification Required:

>> For IMA and Officer Training Academy: Minimum Degree of a recognized university or equivalent

>> For Air Force Academy: B.Sc with Physics and/ Or Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering

>> For Naval Academy: B.Sc with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering

CDS i.e Combined Defence Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission twice in a year for admission to Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officer Training Academy.

Eligibility Criteria:

Military Academy:

-> You must be Citizen of India.
-> You should have completed bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
-> You must have attained the age of 19 years and must not have attained the age of 24 years.
-> You must be unmarried male candidate.
-> No percentage bar is there to apply for this examination.

Naval Academy:

-> You must be Citizen of India.
-> You should have completed B.Sc degree with physics and/or mathematics OR B.E from a recognized university.
-> You must have attained the age of 19 years and must not have attained the age of 22 years.
-> You must be unmarried male candidate.
-> No percentage bar is there to apply for this examination.

Air Force Academy:

-> You must be Citizen of India.
-> You should have completed bachelor's degree with mathematics from a recognized university.
-> You must have attained the age of 19 years and must not have attained the age of 23 years.
-> You must be unmarried male candidate.
-> No percentage bar is there to apply for this examination.

Officer Training Academy:

-> You must be Citizen of India.
-> You should have completed bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
-> You must have attained the age of 19 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years.
-> You must be unmarried male/female candidate.
-> No percentage bar is there to apply for this examination.

If you have completed B.Sc degree then you are eligible for CDS exam. CDS exam doesn't require any percentage marks in gradation degree.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service exam.

Eligibility criteria:-

Indian naval academy: You should have completed engineering graduation or B.Sc with physics, mathematics subjects from a recognized university.

Indian Air force academy: You should have completed engineering graduation or B.Sc with physics, mathematics from a recognized university.

Indian Military academy: You should have completed graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

Officers Training Academy: You should have completed graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

Age Criteria:-

Indian Military Academy: - 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy: - 19-23 Years
Naval Academy: - 19-22 Years
Officer's Training Academy: - 19-25 Years

Eligibility for CDS Exam :

Educational Qualification :

IMA & OTA : Candidate must have completed his graduation from any recognised University or equivalent.

Naval Academy : Candidate must have B.Sc with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Air Force Academy : Candidate must have B.Sc with physics or/and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering degree.

Age limits :

• 19-24 Years for Indian Military Academy
• 19-22 Years for Naval Academy
• 19-23 Years for Air Force Academy
• 19-25 Years for Officers’ Training Academy

No minimum percentage in B.Sc. is required to appear in CDS examination. Candidates who had completed Bachelor's degree course from a recognised university are eligible to appear in CDS examination. Eligibility criteria required to appear in CDS examination is mentioned below :-

1. You must be a citizen of India.

--> For Indian Military Academy (IMA) :- You must have completed Graduation degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
--> For Indian Naval Academy :- You must have completed Graduation degree in Engineering from a recognised university.
--> Indian Air Force Academy :- You must have completed Graduation degree from a recognised university with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

3. Age Limit :-
--> Indian Military Academy :- 19-24 years
--> Air Force Academy :- 19-24 years
--> Naval Academy :- 19-22 years
--> Officers’ Training Academy :- 19-25 years

4. Only Unmarried Male candidates are eligible to apply for Indian Military Academy and Indian Naval Academy.

5. You must be Physically and Mentally fit.

No dear there is No such requirement for the CDS Examination but you must satisfy the educational qualification given by the UPSC. If you want to know the more details about the CDS Examination you can have a look on the below things.

Actually Eligibility is not similar for all the three wings. In fact For Indian Army any graduate can have the eligibility criteria. But Coming to the remaining two wings namely Indian Navy and Indian Air Force you should have complete the B.Sc in Physics and Maths from the recognized university.

Age limits :

For Indian Army : 19 to 24 years

Indian Navy : 19 to 22 years

Indian Air Force : 19 to 23 years .

Selection process will be based on the Written Examination and SSB Interview.

The Eligibility Criteria For UPSC CDS are as follow:
1. Graduate in any Discipline from recognized university.
For Indian Army - Degree from recognized university
For Indian Airforce - Bachelor Degree in any stream with Physics and maths.
For Indian Navy - Enginnerig Degree from recognized university.
2. Age - Must be between - For IMA - Between 1992 to 1997
For Airforce - Between 20 years to 24 years
For Indian Navy - Between 1992 to 1997
3. Must be Citizen of Indian

To apply for the CDS exam , there is no such Cutoff percentage criteria. The candidates who have completed Graduation from a Recognised university can apply for the exam to join in Defence services. And the candidates shouldbe Unmarried candidates. Married candidates are not eligible for the exam .

Apart from this , one who is applying for the exam need to checkout the following points.

~ To apply for the exam , Candidate age shouldbe in between 19-22 years to join in Navy
~ Candidate age shouldbe in between 19-23 years to join in Airforce
~ Candidate age shouldbe in between 19-24 years to join in Army
~ Candidate age shouldbe in between 19-25 years to join in OTA



Selection process is ,

1) Written exam
2) SSB Interview
3) Medical Test

There s no such percentage fixed in graduation to apply for the CDS conducted by UPSC twice in a year .

The eligibility criteria is graduation passed candidates with a recognized university can apply.
Limitations on the age and discipline of graduation is different for different wings.

Indian Military Academy :- 19-24 years with any discipline.
Officer's Training Academy :- 19-25 years with any discipline.
Indian Air Force :- 19-23 years with physics or mathematics or even B.tech .
Navvy Academy:- 19-22 years with physics or mathematics or even B.tech .

The candidates must be unmarried and Indian citizen .
