When will be the next selection exam for INDIAN POLICE SERVICE AND what is the syllabus for INDIAN POLICE SERVICE

This year exam announcement not released yet but you can expect the notification soon. To become IPS Officer you need to crack the Civil Servicie Examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year. Selection Process is based on the Preliminary(CSAT), Main Examination followed by Personal Interview and Physical Fitness Test.

Minimum Eligible qualification required to apply for this examination is that candidate need to completed degree course in any desire subject from a recognized University or equivalent qualification and no percentage bar required to apply for this examination. Minimum age is 21 years. Even final year of degree course may also eligible to apply for this examination.

Paper - I : 200 Marks- 2 Hours

• Current Events of National and International Importance
• History of India and Indian National Movement
• Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the world
• Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues
• Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives
• General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change
• General Science

Paper II: 200 marks - 2 Hours

• Comprehension
• Interpersonal skills including communication skills
• Logical reasoning and analytical ability
• Decision-making and problem solving
• General mental ability
• Basic numeracy (Class X level)
• English language comprehension (Class X level)

The exam notification will be publish in the month of May or June in the official website of UPSC as well as employment news paper. The application forms are received only online mode and there is no offline application. The online application form are available at the time of notification.
