Does the campus selection is decided by authorities for study in IIT?
Hi,
To get into IIT, appearing for JEE Main and Advanced is a must, am I right? Does one have to get a certain high percentage to get into an IIT of one's choice? Or is it decided by the authorities? My preference is Mumbai or Kanpur. Please reply. |

You are right in the first part. To get into the IIT's of your choice you need a very low rank.
You need to have a very low rank and then you will get all the choices as it is likely that those seats will remain vacant. The IIT Management and Authority have no hand in the choice of IIT's. It is totally on the dependent on the seats vacant in the respective streams of that particular IIT. |

It will depend on your performance in the JEE Main and Advanced plus your class XII academic record. If you have got good rank then you can get admission in your choice of institute through counselling.
If you have preference in Kanpur and Mumbai then you must perform very well and during counselling keep these institutes at the top priority. You will get admission if you have excellent rank and authorities have nothing to do with it. |
