Am I eligible for doing Ph.D if I got only 49% marks in PG? Can someone please let me know the eligibility criteria which is followed? It will be good if you can answer me as soon as possible? Thank you!

No, you are not eligible for Ph.D course because your masters degree marks is below 55%.

Eligibility criteria for Ph.D course:-

1)Those candidates who have completed masters from a recognized university with above 55% marks are eligible for Ph.D course.

2)There is no age criteria for Ph.D course.

No, you can't apply for PH.D admission in India if you have got 49% marks in post graduation. You need at least 55% marks if you are a general category candidate and 50% marks in you are reserved category candidate.

Hence, you can't apply for admission in any UGC recognized university. There is chance for you abroad if you are really interested in research.

I have 48.66 marks in post graduation in applied linguistics and ELT. Can I do phd in India or other foreign university
