Hello everyone, I want to do PhD(English Literature) from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. I just want to know about the eligibility criteria for getting admission and studying this PhD course in this university. Please tell me immediately. Thank you!

As per the rules of UGC, for PhD, in any stream, you just have to have a master's degree in a relevant stream with at least 50% aggregate.

It means, all you need is to be a post graduate with the minimum 50% to take admission for PhD.

The eligibility criteria for getting admission in PhD English Literature at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya is a candidate must have passed a Master's degree in the relevant field with a minimum score of 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. There is no specific age limit to apply for this course. Admission selection will be on the basis of performance in DET (Doctoral Entrance Test) which is conducted by the university.

1- A candidate for the Ph.D. degree must have passed a master's degree or equivalent in the concerned subject from a recognized university with at least 55 % marks for general category students as per the norms decided by UGC.

2- 5% relaxation of marks is given to the students who belong to SC/ ST/ OBC (non-creamy layer) categories.
The students must have passed the common entrance test conducted by the university namely DAVV-DET.

3- The students who have qualified the UGC-NET with JRF/ UGC-CSIR-NET with JRF/ a teacher fellowship holder or any other government/ foreign research fellowship holder/ have passed the M.Phil program are exempted from appearing for the entrance test.

4- However all the students have to compulsory appear for the interview round.

PhD is a 3 year duration course with INR 73,600 yearly fees.
It offers PhD programme in more than 40 streams.
The minimum requirement is masters degree with 55% marks from.a recognised board.

The admission is based on doctoral entrance test (DAVV-DET) followed by interview.
Those who are foreign research fellowship holder and those who have passed M.Phil are exempted from entrance exam.
