Hello everyone, I want to apply for PhD in Design course in NIFT-Bengaluru. I would like to know about the eligibility criteria for applying in this college for this PhD program. Please let me know about the eligibility criteria asap. Thank you!

The eligibility to study PhD in Design at NIFT-Bengaluru is a candidate must have passed a Master's degree in the relevant field from a recognized university. There is no age limit to apply for this course and the admission selection will be on the basis of the performance in the written test followed by an interview which is conducted by the university.

>> Apart from this, you are required to appear in entrance examination after scoring good marks in Master's degree.

The minimum qualification required to get admission to PhD program in NIFT shall normally be a 2 years Masters or M Phil degree from any accredited Indian or foreign university in the relevant field with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in the master's degree and relaxation of 5% is provided to SC and ST candidates.

Admission to the phd program shall be based on the students marks obtained in the entrance test conducted by the NIFT.
Those candidates who have valid GATE/NET/SET score card are exempted from appearing in the test.

Those candidates who has completed GATE/NET/SET/ M.Phil/JRF examination in the pertient subject of the apex bodies as a CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT will be exempted from the entrance test.

Eligibility to study PhD(Design) in NIFT-Bengaluru:-

Educational qualifications:-
1) A Master’s level qualification in Design.
2) A Bachelor’s level qualification in Design from NID with a minimum of 3 years professional or teaching experience.
3) Master’s degree in Philosophy (M.Phil) in Design.
4) The candidate must clear the assessment of eligibility and merit of the research proposal.
5) They must pass as well as secure good marks in Design Research Test (DRT).
6) Lastly, candidates have to clear Personal Interviews.

Students who wish to pursue a PhD in Design must meet up with the following eligibility criteria.

A candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Design or any equivalent degree from a recognized college or university.

A candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in the postgraduate examinations.
