Sir,I have completed MA in History from Ignou in the year 2018 securing 55.65 percentage? Can I do PhD in History from Nsou in Distance mode either 2019 or 2020.Kindly show me the way out.

Eligibility:-

Those who have completed masters with atleast 55% marks or above in relevant subject from a recognised board are eligible for PhD.

Those who have qualified any of National level entrance exam like
UGC NET
CSIR NET
SET
SLET
GATE are all exempted from university level entrance exam.
And such students directly appear for an interview.

The eligibility to do PhD In History from NSOU , candidates must have a post graduate degree with minimum 55%marks from a recognised university.

Candidates also have to appear in the entrance exam called UGC NET and CSIR NET.

The duration of this course is 3 years.

Eligibility to do distance PhD in History from NSOU:-

Candidates who have completed post graduate degree in MA with minimum 55% from Burdwan University are eligible to apply for PhD in NSOU.


Candidates also have to appear in the entrance exam called NET, JET and CSIR.

There is no specific age limit to apply for this course.

Eligibility criteria for PhD program from NSOU:-

The educational qualification for admission to the PhD program should generally be a two-year Master's or M.Phil degree from any recognized Indian or foreign university in the relevant field. She/He must have secured 55% marks or equivalent grade in Masters.

Eligibility to do distance PhD in History from NSOU:-

Candidates who have completed post graduate degree in MA with minimum 55% marks from a recognised University are eligible to study PhD in NSOU.

Candidates also have to appear in the entrance exam called NET, JET and CSIR.

There is no specific age limit to apply for this course.

Admission selection is made on the basis of performance in the Netaji Subhas Open University Entrance Test followed by an interview. There is no specific age limit to apply for this course.
