No, you are not eligible for Ph.D course because your masters degree marks is below 55%.

Eligibility criteria for Ph.D course:-

1)Those candidates who have completed masters from a recognized university with above 55% marks are eligible for Ph.D course.

2)There is no age criteria for Ph.D course.

For a general category candidate 55% marks in M.A English is the required qualification for Ph.D admission in India. If you don't belong to reserved category then it will be very difficult to get admission in Ph.D programme with this percentage.

Only after getting 5% marks relaxation you will be eligible for Ph.D admission through written exam and interview conducted by the concerned university.
