You need to have a masters degree in chemistry with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognised university if you are looking for PhD admission in the same subject. There is a relaxation of 5% marks for candidates who belong to reserved category.

Admission will be on merit which will be decided through entrance exam and interview conducted by the concerned university. Just make sure you apply for it when there is notification the concerned university for the said course.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree with above 55% marks from a recognized university are eligible for Ph.D course in Kannur University. For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

There are no age criteria.

But you must have a valid CSIR NET score card.
