Dear friends, please help me to know about the eligibility criteria through which I can study PhD in Library & Information Science program in Osmania University? I am interested to do PhD in this stream in this college. Please help me to know about this asap. Thank you!

The eligibility to study PhD in Library & Information Science at Osmania University is a candidate must have passed a post-graduation in the relevant field with a minimum score of 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. There would be a 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates and there is no age limit to apply for this course. Admission selection will be on the basis of the score obtained in the entrance examination which is conducted by the university.

The candidate who has already qualified GATE/NET/SET will be exempted from the written test. I am also giving you the Osmania University website link for your reference that is www.osmania.ac.in

Eligibility:-

For PhD (Library & Information Science) you must have a post graduate degree in Library & Information Science with atleast 55%marks .

Eligibility to study PhD(Library & Information Science) in Osmania University are as follows:-
Candidate must have obtained a postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification in any particular subject from a recognized university.
Candidate must have scored at least 50% marks in aggregate.
Candidate should have a minimum experience of two years post their Master's degree on the date of writing the admission test.

Some of the entrance test are as follows:-
UGC NET, GATE, R-MAT, XAT.

If the candidate has obtained a postgraduate degree from a recognised university or a postgraduate degree through distance mode from a recognised University and approved by the distance education council New Delhi in the concerned subject or in an allied subject approved by the Osmania University securing not less than 55% marks at the postgraduate degree and securing not less than 50% marks in the case of SC and ST students.

In all the Faculties a candidate is eligible for registration/admission into PhD course in a subject, if he/she has obtained a Post-Graduate Degree, from a recognized University or a Post Graduate Degree through Distance mode from a recognized University and approved by the Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi, in the concerned subject or in an allied subject approved by the Osmania University securing not less than 55% marks at the Post-Graduate Degree and securing not less than 50% marks in the case of SC/ST candidates.

In order to be eligible
Candidate must have Masters degree or M.Phil in library and information science with atleast 50_60% marks from a recognised board.
Preference is given to students ,if their masters or M.Phil is from some reputed college.
One is eligible ,if they have qualified any of below exam

CSIR-NET
GATE
JEST
GPAT exam

To be eligible for undertaking the study of PhD Library and Information Science course, the aspiring candidates must have a Master's degree or M. Phil in the relevant discipline with a minimum 55% (50% for SC/ST candidates) aggregate score from a recognized university.

Admission will be done on the basis of entrance examination that is conducted by Osman University however, those candidates who have done MPhil are exempted from appearing in the test.

The course fee is generally between rupees 3000 to 25000.
