Hi everyone, I have secured 57.9% marks in my MA with English specialization. I want to do PhD in English from IGNOU. So, please let me know that how can I apply for PhD program with this specialization in IGNOU?

Yes, you are definitely eligible to pursue PhD(English) program in IGNOU with 57.9% in MA. Candidates who have an MPhil Degree and a Post-Graduate Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (59% marks in case of SC/ST/PH candidates) or an equivalent grade from any recognized university are eligible to pursue PhD(English) program in IGNOU. PhD(English) program is minimum duration of 2 years and maximum of 5 years.

Candidate who is interested to pursue PhD in English from IGNOU University must hold master degree from a recognised University need at least 55% marks and relaxation of 5% in percentage is given to reserved students.
Candidate has to appear in the entrance test known as IGNOU research test.
The entrance exam generally conducted in the month of March.
