Re: How can I become a Professor through a PhD(Mechanical Engineering) course at Delhi Technological University?
There are stages to be promoted as a Professor you can start your teaching as a Lecturer or directly as Assistant Professor after which you can get promoted as an Associate Professor and then as a Professor. The qualification required to become a Lecturer/Assistant Professor is a candidate must have passed a Master's degree with a minimum score of 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university and must have cleared the National Eligibility Test NET/SLET which is conducted by UGC (University Grant Commission).
To become a professor, an associate professor the candidate must have a PhD in the relevant field and should have published work of high quality, be actively engaged in research of high quality with a minimum of 10 publications like books, research, or policy papers with evidence of published work and should have minimum 12-14 years of experience in teaching or research field. |
