First of all,
***You have to have MSc for becoming a lecturer. And, However, these days Ph.D has become the norm. Some universities do not have MPhil programs. Or, (MPhil is an additional qualification. So, it helps but there is no or in between). |

In order to be a lecturer, one must have a master's degree with atleast 60% marks in engineering field.
8 year experience is required as a lecturer/teaching or research work. Those who have qualified UGC NET are given preference. As you have M.Phil degree, you can join as lecturer. |

It depends on the subject one is lecturing about.
In ethics, philosophy, or logic, a master's degree in philosophy could be a plus. In the case of logic, a math degree could be applicable, too. If one is lecturing in management science, maths, physics, or engineering, a master of science degree would be more applicable. |
