What is the eligibility for Assistant professor post?


I am doing my post doctoral in Kerala university. But in my master degree 51% only in my PhD awarded in Mk university..in this stage I am eligible for assistant professor post or noyiaasking detailed questions.ma sociology PhD also sociology and PD also sociology. I am of canditate

The eligibility for Assistant professor post:-

According to UGC norms, NET qualified candidates are considered for the job position of assistant professor. PhD holders can apply directly for the position. NET exam is conducted by UGC. The exam is conducted two times in a year, June and December.
After qualifying the test, you can apply for the post through the web portal of the concerned Institute.

UGC has revised the minimum qualification requirement clause for recruitment of assistant professor in the universities. PhD is not mandatory now till July 2023 for assistant professor jobs.

There are no age limit criteria sat to be eligible to apply for the post of assistant professor. Many students choose this profession after getting prior experience which proves to be beneficial in getting the job.

The candidates are required to earn a master's degree in a specialized subject. To pursue a fully-fledged career as a Professor, they need to complete their doctoral and post-doctoral degree.

Category Educational Qualification
General : Master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks.
ST/SC/OBC/PWD/Transgenders: Master's degree with a minimum of 50% marks.

As per UGC's latest guidelines , PhD degree is mandatory for all those who wish to join university department as Assistant professor.
NET is also compulsory for the post.
Only the UGC NET/ CSIR NET/ICAR NET is the gateway or entry for becoming Assistant professor.
There is no upper age limit.
It may take upto 7 yrs to become an Assistant Professor.

Education qualification:-

For Genera - Master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks.

For ST/SC/OBC/PWD/Transgenders is Master's degree with a minimum of 50% marks.

The eligibility for the Assistant Professor post a candidate must have passed a Master's degree in any of the relevant subjects with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university. A candidate must be between 21 and 40 years of age to apply for this post. You need to clear NET which is popularly known as UGC NET which is a competitive examination conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency). Once you clear the exam and receive the UGC NET certificate thereafter you can apply for the Assistant Professor profile in reputed colleges and universities across the country.

The minimum eligibility criteria for the assistant professor, JRF or equivalent posts in the UGC Approved Universities are as follows: SET/SLET qualified NET certificates and a Master's degree. Minimum 55% marks in post-graduation for the recruitment of teachers or Ph. D.

The eligibility for Assistant Professor post is,you must have a post graduate degree or PhD degree with minimum 55%marks .

And also you have to appear in the entrance exam called SET/SLET and NET ,and also have to qualify it.

PhD degree is mandatory for all who wish to become a Assistant Professor.

Eligibility:-

Candidates who have completed their masters degree with minimum 55%marks from a recognized university can go for a Assistant Professor post.

But,yes First you have to qualify the entrance exam called CSIR NET, UGC NET and ICAR NET.
