Re: What is the procedure followed for MCA students to do Ph.D?
Being an MCA holder, you are eligible to pursue PhD in the relevant discipline. You should have completed your MCA with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university. You have to appear for an entrance examination conducted by the university itself in order to get admission for the course. If you have qualified M.Phil/UGC NET/JRF/SLET/GATE, then you don't have to appear for the examination and can get direct admission.

Yes, MCA graduates are eligible for PhD admission directly without doing M.Tech through entrance exam and interview which is conducted by the concerned University .
You need to apply on a prescribed format when admission is announced and appear for entrance exam and interview. Admission will be based on the merit prepared on the basis of entrance exam and interview. |

You must take a PhD in the stream you are comfortable in and since you are specialising in computer application, hence you can pursue Phd in Computer Application. You have to score good marks either in GATE or NET examination.
You must have minimum 55% marks in your post graduation. Procedure to pursue Doctoral Program (PhD) after successful completion of MCA course:
Generally, there is a certain educational qualification required to pursue this Doctoral Program. The basic educational qualification required is, >> Master's degree or its equivalent qualification in concerned stream from a recognized university. Master's Degree courses may be, * M.Tech/ M.E * MCA * Master of Computer Science..etc., >> If you have scored minimum 55% marks in Post Graduation, then I can certainly say that you are eligible to pursue this PhD course. >> Besides meeting this eligibility criteria, you are required to appear in GATE Examination or CSIR/ UCG National Eligibility Test. You are required to produce valid score of before mentioned examination while getting admission into doctoral program. >> Hence, I would suggest you to score well in above mentioned examinations and then apply for PhD course in concerned colleges. |
