What is the upper age limit to apply for post of assistant professor
I am 59 years old working as adhoc assistant professor.I am PhD and having 20 years of teaching experience. Am i eligible to apply for the post of assistant professor in the same college on contract basis for 3 years by notification of Punjab university?

The upper age limit for applying to the post of Assistant Professor:-
There is no upper age Limit required to apply for the post of Assistant Professor. Eligibility criteria for Assistant Professor post are :- Candidates must have completed master's degree with at least 55% marks. Candidates of SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories must have completed their master's degree with at least 50% marks. Candidates age must be at least 21 years. Upper age limit is not required. |

The upper age limit to apply for post of assistant professor:-
Those candidates who have completed PhD degree from a recognised University are eligible for assistant professor. If you have qualified in UGC NET/SET/SLET exams, then also your are eligible for assistant professor post. Your age should be below 60 years. There is no age limit to apply for post of assistant professor. There is age limit for the exam which makes you eligible for Assistant professor. The age limit for NET is 30 years in India. The candidate must have qualified NET to become a profesor.

Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances. Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying for eligibility for Assistant Professor.

The upper age limit to apply for post of assistant professor is as follows.
There is no age restriction to apply for the position of Assistant Professor. Most the university set their own eligibility criteria, if you fit in that criteria than you are totally eligible to apply for the position of Assistant Professor being 59 year old. Yes, You are totally eligible to apply for the post of assistant professor in the same college on contract basis for 3 years by notification of Punjab university. You will be given priority in most of the private institution because your experience. Your final selection will be done through personal interview. |

There is no upper age limit for applying for Assistant Professor.
The applicant should have master's degree with 55% marks in a relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. |

✓ The upper age limit is 40 years to apply for the post of assistant professor on the 1st January of the year of the notification and relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category (non-creamy layer) candidates for the post of Assistant Professor.
