xat was quite a tougher exam than cat.
but not to worry for cat aspirants as u can give it again on 30th Jan 2010.

i personally faced this.
XAT was much tougher than CAT....

Xat and cat are the entrance exams of mba. Cat is tougher than xat. That is true

Yes, this time xat was tougher than CAT.

as i m doing my B.TECH so i have no information...but i think XAT was tougher

XAT & CAT both are tougher ,but in my point of view CAT is more tougher then XAT .
XAT is like AIEEE.
and CAT is like IIT.

In my opinion any exam is easy for every on it possible only when you study hard and more attentions on your paper which you have ready to face it.
Every thing is easy when you are learn subject proper but last year paper XAT is little bit though then CAT

According to me CAT was tougher than XAT 2010. I think CAT is always tougher than any other exam. Its correction method is also tough.

every one can get cat if he works hard but xat will be little tougher those who have more iq and memory power can get it

the levels of both the exams are almost equal....

hardly you can compare them...

I think XAT is difficult than CAT cause it has very few seats and also the question level is also high...

yes, i have seen tboth the papers out of my reveiw i will say that XAT papers are always tougher than that of CAT and 2010 was no different the level of questions asked in XAT is of higher standard than CAT mainly in cat i will say 1 has to be sharp and wise in answering questions but XAT is totally based upon your knowledge and your depth in study.

Both CAT and XAT are difficult to qualify, but in my view XAT exam is tougher than CAT. I had seen last year's both papers from where i concluded that XAT exam is some what bit difficult than CAT exam.

As I did not attempt XAt or CAT, I will be an outsider to this. But from my point of view, XAT is easier than CAT. CAT scores need to be very high for a student(say around 99 percentile), to get in a good institute like IIM. Whereas scoring lesser than that in XAT will not harm to get a chance in XLRI, Jamshedpur. So CAT is the difficult one.

yess xat 2010 was way tougher in comparison to cat that year..

Cat and Xat:
1. cat is computer based and in slots over a period of days. xat is pen and paper based,at least till this year.
2. their is normalization of scores is cat. nothing as such in xat.
3.online cat is very much easier than the xat paper of the last two years.
4. sections in cat: verbal ability, quant and logic and di
xat: verbal, quantitative ability, reasoning and decision making ability(unique feature of xat)
5. no. of reputed colleges that accept xat score are way less than the colleges accepting cat score.

thats some of the general differences. for prep related aspects you can follow the threads mentioned above. but in my honest opinion the things that you need to study for xat is all but similar to cat.
the major difference comes up in the strategy that you have to follow during the exam..in cat there are 60 qs in 135 min, in xat this year there were more than 100 questions and the qs were tougher than cat..

Hai, XAT exam is tougher than cat exam. We all know eligibility for cat is 50% where as XAT no minimum percentage.
In cat exam only two sections are there. They are
1. Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation 2. Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning where as in XAT exam including above two more sections are there they are decision making and Essay and General awareness.
2.Time duration for CAT exam is 2:35 mins where as XAT exam is 180 mins.
3.Options for multiple choice questions in cat are 4 where as in xat are 5 to make more confuse.

We know XAT is also tough exam, but as we know generally that if you have knowledge about question which comes in exam that will you treat as a easy question and the other side which you don't have then you treat as tough question. As per my perception CAT was tough in 2010.
