Yes, a B.Tech Metallurgical Engineer can definitely apply for GATE examination, there is no harm in it. Any B.Tech graduate if wishes can apply for GATE examination.

Yes, a B.Tech student in Metallurgical Engineering can definitely apply for GATE. There is a separate paper conducted for the metallurgical graduates. The detailed notification of GATE - 2015 is attached for your kind reference.

GATE is for any stream B.Tech candidates who have got their qualification from a AICTE recognized institute. Just make sure that you have got at least 60% marks in your B.Tech.
After qualifying B.Tech you will be eligible for admission in M.Tech metallurgical engineering. GATE is for admission in M.Tech and you are definitely eligible for it. |
