Sir diploma is compulsory or not for joining merchant navy after 10th and which subjects are best for merchant navy

Diploma candidates are not eligible for Merchant Navy exam.

Those candidates who have passed your 12th or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics from Central/ State board or recognised board are eligible for Merchant Navy exam.
Your age should be below 20 years.

Physical criteria:-
Eye sight - 6/6
Height - 167cms
Weight - 50kg
Chest - 77cms ( normal)/82 (expanding).

The usual prerequisite for pursuing a diploma in marine engineering is 12th (PCM). But, some institutions also accept class 10th graders. It lasts for three years.

No. A diploma course is not compulsory to get a job in the merchant navy. Also, After completing class 10, you can go for the science stream in class 12. After completing class 12 with the science stream, you are eligible to pursue the B.Sc in Nautical Science course which will help you to build a career in the field of the merchant navy. Also, by pursuing this course, you will be able to learn a lot of things in this field.

Which stream is better for joining Merchant navy Diploma?

The eligibility requirements are that an individual should pursue physics, maths or chemistry in class 12th and score at least 60% marks. A student can also pursue a career in the merchant navy after completing class 10th with 40% marks.
