The full marks which this paper holds are 70. There are 8 questions in all of which 6 must be answered by each candidate. The first question is a compulsory one and the student has to choose any 5 questions from the remaining ones. The first question is a fully objective section containing ten questions of 2 marks each. The questions are: what are the conditions a wave function must satisfy, write down the Arrhenius Equation and explain the terms involved in it, how is the theory of absolute rate superior to collision theory, distinguish between the triple point of ice-water-water vapor system and the normal freezing point of water. The second question has short notes on triple point, eutectic point, univariant system, and mathematical problems. Important questions from the other sections are draw a neat diagram and explain the water equivalent system, explain why the order of a reaction cannot be predicted from overall stoichiometry, explain with example the function of catalytic promoter.
