The subject of history is crucial to our knowledge about our own country and different neighbouring countries. History has a big role to play in the development of a state and it shows how changing circumstances and consequent impact on the state has resulted in the country that has evolved today. The study of history is crucial to every student for the purpose of understanding the nature of the state and cultural, political, social, religious and military heritage of a country. Some of the important topics covered under this course are Rajput kingdoms during the Mughal era, Akbar’s policies underthe Rajput kingdoms, causes and results of the second battle of panipat, main features of revenue system introduced by Todarmal, Mughal nobility, Deccan policy of Aurangzeb, rise and fall of Portugueses power in India, Revenue reforms introduced by Lord Cornwallis, achievements of Balaji Vishwanathan, policies of Dalhousie and their impact on India. The maximum marks allotted for this paper is 120, which are didvided into 5 sections. The first 3 sections holds 30 marks each with one questions of 18 marks to be answered in not more than 5 pages and 2 questions of 6 marks each to be answered in 1 page each. The fourth section is Map pointing where you have to mark some important historical places and state their importance. The last section is for 5 short questions to be answered in 3-4 sentences each. Both these sections carry 15 marks each.
