May I know what is the age criteria for LKG in CBSE schools in general. My son's DOB is 28-11-2014. Will it be problem in 10th std if i put him in LKG now.

According to earlier RTE rules of 2014-15, the age limit for admission in Nursey level should be between 2 years and 6 months and 3 years 6 months and for admission to Junior KG (LKG) Class should be between 3.5 and 4.5 years and for Class I should be between 5.5 and 6.5 years.

But after RTE guidelines of 2016-17, a child must have completed 3 years and 10 months for admission in LKG class and 5 years and 10 months for Class I as on 01.06.2016.

LKG — kid should completed 3years as on April 2021 For LKG admission of year 2021–2022 educational year. In General, 3.6 to 4.6 years are eligible for LKG.

The age criteria required to take admission in LKG in CBSE board school is 3 years 6 months as on 31st March of the year of examination. To be eligible to get admission in 1st standard, the minimum age required is 5 years 6 months as on 31st March of the year of examination. If you join your son in LKG at the age of 5 years 6 months, there will not be any problem for your son to appear in 10th standard Board examinations.

The proper age for admission in LKG is 5 yrs as well as some parents admit their student at the age of 3 yr or more.

But 5 yr is sufficient as child gets sufficient time to play and spend more time with parents.
