According to me CBSE board is the best for those who want to pursue Engineering or medical studies further because they mainly follow NCERT syllabus which deals with the basics of Engineering study. The questions of NEET and JEE are mainly NCERT based. So, by studying NCERT you are preparing both boards and competitive exams.

Choosing the best board for engineering college depends on various factors, including the country where you plan to pursue your engineering degree. Different countries have different education systems and boards that are recognized for admission to engineering colleges.

In the context of India, some of the commonly recognized boards for engineering admissions are:

1. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE): CBSE is a national board in India that follows a centralized curriculum. It is widely accepted by engineering colleges across the country, including prestigious institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the National Institutes of Technology (NITs).

2. Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE): CISCE is another national board in India that conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations. While CBSE is more commonly accepted, some engineering colleges also recognize CISCE for admissions.

Every Board is good for engineering college. It is the capability and handwork of student to clear the exam. as your son was Studying in ICSE Board it will be good for your son to study in same board rather than changing to another board.

Since the CBSE board syllabus is based on the 10+2 curriculum, it makes the board a preferable choice for students who want to appear for various competitive exams such as Medical and Engineering.

If you want to pursue Engineering the best Board would be for you is CBSE Board as it focus on the NCERT syllabus and for the Engineering the syllabus that they follow is NCERT based. The Joint Entrance examination that is being held every year are also NCERT based. So, it will be easy for you to prepare both the Board examination as well as competitive examination if you want to study in India. But, for studying abroad ICSE will be best as they follow the British Council syllabus and also quality wise education will be ICSE as comparison to CBSE Board. Both the Boards has equal weightage and has a scope too which ever Board you want to opt.

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE): CISCE is another national-level board that conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations.
