I am from NIOS Board and my friend is from Regular. We both are preparing for JEE Main, so to whom will college prefer first?

As far as education board is concerned there is no discrimination. Every board is treated as equal and you just need to fulfill the eligibility criteria. Admission will be based on the performance in JEE Main and marks in class 12th irrespective of the board.

NIOS is a recognized way of getting school certificate and it is equivalent to any other board marks.

NIOS board is recognised board hence there will be not any kind of problem while getting admission in a best college in India. Only your marks in 12th and in the entrance exam are considered while giving you admission not your board. The Board should be recognised.

Let me tell you that board does not matter any more.
NIOS stands for National Institute of Open School.
Every board has same value and NIOS is also a recognized board.
Both of you are treated as same as every board which is recognized. You get preference according to your marks not according to only board basis.

No, doubt you both are eligible for getting admission in same college/institute if you have same score and belongs to same category.

So, you just need to prepare for your JEE examination and board examination to get better score and qualify in examination for admission in better institute.

Candidates of all the board are eligible to appear for JEE and there is no special relaxation for candidates of any board.

Both have adequate chances to get selected for B.Tech course depending upon their marks scored in the entrance examination. There is no such problem in it, you just have to have score really well in your entrance examination to get admission in any good college.

It is not like that, there is no discrimination between the two Boards. Both the Boards are treated equally on the basis of Education. The main requirement is that you must fulfil the required eligibility criteria. NIOS Board is also a recognized Board, so there is no problem in further studies from NIOS.
Admission to the colleges will be simply based on the performance in the entrance examination and in the marks scored in class 12th.
