Re: For genetic engineering is maths compulsory or biology compulsory?
For genetic engineering , candidate must have passed 12th with PCB or PCM (physics, chemistry, maths or biology).
They must have completed 12th with atleast 50% marks. Math is not that necessary, means it's not compulsory to have depth knowledge of maths. And if you feel interested, you can go fir NEET. Choice is yours, but for NEET determination and hard work is required. Candidate must have strong academic background . |

No, mathematics subject is not mandatory to apply for B tech in genetic engineering. But, you must have studied Biology as a main subject in 12th standard. Biology subject is mandatory to apply for B.Tech genetic engineering course.
Eligibility criteria for B tech genetic engineering course:- To pursue for BTech engineering course, a candidate must have to pass 12th standard in science stream from any recognised board . Applicants must have studied Biology as one of the compulsory subjects. Most of the reputed engineering Universities offer admission based on score obtained in JEE, BITSAT exam. Some universities can also conduct their own entrance exam within the college. |

°°° In order to pursue genetic engineering academy should have completed 10 + 2 with physics, chemistry, mathematics/Biology from a recognised board.
Admission to B.Tech in genetic engineering is made through entrance tests conducted in house by various industries of through the scores of the National Engineering entrance examinations like: JEE for IITs/NITs and CFTI's across the country. Sharda University admission test UPSEE Hence, you are eligible to pursue this course in spite of the subject you have chosen in your 11th and 12th standards. |

Re: For genetic engineering is maths compulsory or biology compulsory?
Genetic engineering is a interdisciplinary field between engineering and genetics. In General, Mathematics is required for genetics. Statistics plays an important role in the experimentation of Genetics.
In Ist year you will have some comprehensive mathematics course known as Engineering Mathematics. So you have to learn mathematics. For this course both PCB and PCM are eligible but you will need Mathematics to lead the course. |
