Re: Is there any relaxation in marks for OBC category in JEE Main 2017?
You are eligible to appear for JEE Main in 2017 as according to JEE Main eligibility the minimum required aggregate to appear for examination is 45% in 12th board examination.
But,you are not eligible to get admission in NIT's and IIT's even after qualifying in examination as the minimum required aggregate is 75% relaxation for SC/ST as only 65% is required but there is no relaxation for OBC candidates. For more details visit at www.jeemain.nic.in. |

Re: Is there any relaxation in marks for OBC category in JEE Main 2017?
JEE refers to Joint Entrance Examination and same is held by CBSE once every year for admission in B.Tech/ B.Arch degree course in any CFTIs and other private engineering colleges of India. The examination is held in two stages which includes JEE Main and JEE Advanced respectively.
The minimum educational requirement for appearing in JEE Main 2017 is a higher secondary school degree with PCM group with at least 45% aggregate from a recognized board. But for admission in CFTIs like IIT, NIT, IIIT the aggregate must not be less than 75% or that much which keeps the applicant within the top 20 percentile candidate of its respective board of examination. Relaxation of 10% is allowed for SC/ST candidates. So having managed only 67.4% marks in your Class 12th you are not eligible for admission in NITs or any other CFTIs even being OBC category candidate unless you lie among the top 20 percentile candidate of your concerned board of examination. As far as you are concerned about appearing in the improvement examination then for your kind information you must reappear in all the concerned subjects of your Class 12th once again next year to be eligible for appearing in JEE. Look, there is no relaxation for general as well as OBC in jee main 2017.This scheme is only for SC/ST. I suggest you to start preparing for the improvement exam, otherwise you are not going to qualify for jee main this year.

Re: Is there any relaxation in marks for OBC category in JEE Main 2017?
I am sorry to say that there is no relaxation for OBC candidates for JEE Main examination.
Candidates those who have completed their class 12th studying PCM as a subject combination with a minimum of 75% of marks in it are eligible for JEE Main examination. Since you have scored less than 75% of marks in it, you are not eligible for the above mentioned examination. You must appear for the improvement examination in order to increase your percentage of marks to be eligible for JEE Main examination. |

Re: Is there any relaxation in marks for OBC category in JEE Main 2017?
Yes, you are eligible to appear for Joint Entrance Examination conducted for admission in IIT's, NIT's and other government and private colleges.
The eligibility to appear for examination is :- Candidate must have passed 12th from recognised board. Candidate must have minimum 45% with PCM as main paper. But, as per new rules candidates having aggregate less than 75% in board examination or not in 20 percentile score are not eligible to get admission in IIT's or NIT's. So, you can check the 20 percentile of your respective board to get your eligibility for NIT. There is no relaxation for OBC candidates in aggregate. |

Re: Is there any relaxation in marks for OBC category in JEE Main 2017?
JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination and same is a national level engineering entrance examination held for admission in B.Tech / B.Arch degree course in any CFTIs ( Centrally Funded Institute of Technology ) like IIT, NIT, IIIT, ISM etc. and other private engineering colleges.
* JEE is held once every year by CBSE in two stages which includes JEE Main and JEE Advanced respectively. * The minimum educational requirement for appearing in JEE Main is a higher secondary school degree with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects with at least 45% from a recognized board of education. Further for admission in any CFTIs the minimum aggregate in higher secondary school degree must not be less that 75% and 65% in case of SC/ST category candidates. Further any student not securing mentioned aggregate but lying among the top 20 percentile student of their respective board on the basis of marks secured in the board examination. So havinh managed 67.4% in your Class 12th board examination you are eligible for admission in NITs only if you satisfy the percentile requirement norms otherwise not. Re: Is there any relaxation in marks for OBC category in JEE Main 2017?
No, there is no relaxation in marks for OBC category candidates in JEE Main 2017 to take admission in NIT. The candidate should have minimum 75% aggregate marks or should be in top 20 percentile high scorers of 12th standard board examinations. In case of SC/ ST category candidates, there is 5% relaxation in marks to take admission in NIT. So, being a OBC category candidate, you need to have at least 75% aggregate marks in your 12th standard board examinations.
