Sir, I am a 12th Science student of Chhattisgarh Board. I want to join the Merchant Navy and this is my aim. So, for joining the Merchant Navy, what course do I have to do? I am good in my education and I can do whatever to achieve my aim.

---Join Merchant Navy after completion of 12th then please appear the entrance exam namely as NDA conducted by UPSC twice a years.

---Moreover,if you want to complete your Graduation,then after completing this you have to appear the entrance exam namely as CDS.

--Any type of Graduation is acceptable but engineering field grab some plus point

The eligibility for joining Merchant Navy is finishing class 12th with physics, chemistry and mathematics.

Candidates have to be unmarried Indian citizens.

Normal vision is required but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed.

Admission is through an entrance followed by a screening test and a main written examination.

After clearing the test, there is an interview and a medical test.

You also need to complete a ship training course prior to the employment.

Entrance exams for Merchant Navy after 12th

Indian Maritime University common entrance test(IMU CET)

This exam is generally conducted in the month of May.

If you want to join Merchant Navy than you must have passed 12th from a recognised board in PCM as main paper.

The minimum age limit is 18 years. Entrance examination is conducted for the final selection.

So, you can pursue 12th in PCM for the recruitment Merchant Navy.

In order to join Merchant Navy after passing your 12th standard, candidate should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks.

Age limit- 17 to 25 years.
