gate candidates must n must get 99 percentile. That is you must be in top 1 percent of the students appear to get a seat in iit institute.

Iit madras is among top 3 iit's across india and competition will be very tough.

You must atleast get a rank of below 300 if your oc or obc candidate,

below 1000 may fetch you any seat in 7 iits but not of your required branch.
