To become geologist, you will have to crack the written test and personal interview conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The entrance exam is called UPSC Geologist exam.

To be eligible for this exam, you must have master's degree in geology or applied geology or marine geology from a recognized university. The minimum age limit is 21 years and upper age limit for general category candidates is 32 years. Upper age relaxation applicable to OBC and SC/ST candidates.

Scheme of examination:

General English: 100 marks.

Geology paper I: 200 marks.

Geology paper II: 200 marks

Geology paper III: 200 marks.

Personality test of 200 marks.
