GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering and the examination is conducted by the IIT for the students who want to pursue the M.tech course from a government institute such as from the IIT , NIT etc...

The eligibility to apply for the examination is candidate must have passed or pursuing in the 4th year/8th semester of their B.tech from a recognised university. There is no specific requirement of aggregate or stream of the B.tech.

The GATE examination is conducted only in online based and there is also no limitation on number of attempts to appear in the examination. The GATE score are valid for three consecutive years and also plays a crucial role in getting the jobs in various PSU's firm.

The examination are conducted in the month of February and the question paper contains questions of Quantitative Aptitude , General knowledge and topics of last four year of the B.tech stream.

The candidate who qualifies in the entrance and get the admission are also given the stipined for the study.

# Presently, all public sector undertakings offering job to those candidates who have performed brilliant in GATE.

# Fresh engineers with valid score card are shortlisted by all PSUs. Thereafter all of them forward for group discussions and interview in order to judge the technical and general aptitude.

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

> Conducted jointly by IISc and 7 IITs on behalf of the National Co-ordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Undergraduate level knowledge of the chosen engineering or science discipline.

> Gate is for graduate as well as under graduate ( 8th semester) students of b.tech .

> There are 65 questions for 100 marks. It consist of various questions related to your core subjects, maths M1,M2,M3 and general aptitude .

> 15 marks for M1,M2,M3 , 15 marks for general aptitude and remaining 70 marks for core subjects .

> Pattern of exam- multiple choice, and single choice objective exam.
