Age limit for Teachers in Government Schools?

The minimum age generally allowed is 19 years and the maximum age must not exceed 37 years for General Category Candidates. As there is an age relaxation for OBC/ SC/ ST/ PWD Category Candidates as per government norms, these candidates may get some additional years relaxation. The basic age criteria required for applying for the post of Government School Teacher is,

For General Candidates - 37 years
For OBC Candidates - 40 years
For SC Candidates - 42 years
For ST Candidates - 42 years
For PWD Candidates - 47 years

To become Government School Teacher you are required to qualify "CTET" (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) which is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education.

There is no such age limit for Teacher job in Government schools for experienced candidates. Most of the school may fix a maximum age limit to apply for the Teacher job is 35 to 40 years. Relaxation will be awarded for the candidates who are belong from reserving category. Please, refer the respective school official notification in order to get more details regarding eligibility criteria.

If you have completed bachelor degree from a recognized university then you are eligible for Teachers in Government Schools exam.

But you must have valid B.Ed certificate.

Only Indian citizenship candidate are eligible for this exam.

Age limit for teachers in Government Schools are as under :-

- For general category candidate ,it is 37 years .

- For OBC candidate , it is 40 years .

One who wishes to become a teacher in Govt. school has to appear for the TET exam .It is a State level Teacher Eligibility Test which makes a candidate eligible for the government teacher job.

TET Entrance exam is for all graduates who have secured at least 60% marks in their Graduation degree .

Age limit for Teachers in Government Schools :

For General Candidates : 18-39 years
For SC/ST Candidates : 18-44 years
For OBC Candidates : 18-42 years
For Physically Handicapped Candidates : 18-49 years

In general, the minimum age limit for applying teacher job is 20 years while that of maximum age of 40 years.

For applying central teacher eligibility test (CTET) which fills teachers at central level the minimum age criteria is 18 years while that there is no upper age limit.

My age is 42 and I belong to general category and had done Bed. Can I apply for TGT in Bihar?

Is the age limit for b ed Teachers in any state more than 40 years for general categories?

I have done Mechanical diploma 2014, and BA pass course in delhi university 2001. That time I doing 14 years job in Mechanical designer at private company. So that now I tries to teaching line Can apply for that or not ? Now my age is 41. I am general class category also.
