How to prepare for Group 1 exams of Indian Administrative Service?


I am planning to appear for the IAS (Indian Administrative Service) entrance exam conducted by UPPSC. SO can you please guide how to prepare for the Group 1 exam?

Hello,IAS exam is Indian Administrative Service exam used to recruit many candidate in various posts.But mainly for preparation of group 1 exams of IAS,it is advised to use only few quality books for its preparation.You may prepare for this by using quality books of general studies and make examination easy by preparing useful notes.Beside this read modern history,freedom movement and for geography give more stress to physical geography and questions related to maps.Inspite of this you may increase your current affairs by reading daily standard news paper thoroughly and general awareness by using good year book.

UPSC conducts Civil Services Examination every year for recruitment of candidates as I.A.S, I.P.S, I.F.S etc...

The eligibility to appear for examination is :-

Candidate must have passed or in final year of graduation from any recognised university.

Candidate's age must be between 21-32 years with relaxation for reserved category.

So, if you have completed your graduation or in final year, you are eligible to appear for examination. The examination is conducted in three stages and it is necessary to qualify in all the stages for final selection.

Here are some of the tips for the preparation of Indian Administrative Service examination.

PREPARATION TIPS :

* The aspirants are advised to look the syllabus copy of the examination thoroughly.

* Prepare a schedule and stick to it.

* Focus more on the tough topics and some time on the topics which you know little.

* Maintain a separate notebook for the formulas to revise at the last moment.

* Practice more number of previous year questions to know the pattern of the examination.

* As time management skill is crucial, write more number of mock tests.

* Self assessment of the topics will always helpful for the competitive examinations.

* Read newspapers to know about the in and around happenings of the world.

* Reading newspapers will also improve the English language which inturn useful for the English section.

* Follow one or two reference books for the preparation.

* History of Medieval India - Satish Chandra.

* Facets of Indian Culture - Spectrum.

If you really are interested in joining IAS,I would like to say you that the preparation is going to be quite tough and so is the competition level also high. You need to study and prepare quite well.

> The first and foremost thing you can do, is to aim at the one ad only thing in life you want to become, that way you won't deviate from your prime focus.

> You should make a proper time table in order to be hassle free and try to follow it strictly.

> Solve your queries as an when it arises, do not pile it up ever as it will be a burden on yourself only.

> If required join a coaching Institute, if you feel that you alone are not competent enough for it.

> Make a regular habit of revising things at the end of the day.

> Last but not the least, keep yourself healthy as a healthy body carries a healthy mind.
